Abstract

Nowadays, English is the common means of communication in all areas worldwide. One of those areas is technical - science - an important field for the process of industrialization and modernization of the country and the process of integration with the region. Besides cultivating knowledge and competence in professional practice, students should have an understanding of a foreign language. Electronics and telecommunications is developing very fast. With the beginning of the “information superhighway” and computerized video coming to your home, it is hard to imagine that electronics and telecommunications will not continue to expand in the future. It is everywhere in our lives. To keep up with the development, students have to acquire both technical knowledge and good English language skills. The textbook “English for Electronics and Telecommunications” is designed for the third year students of electronics and telecommunications who have reached the intermediate level. In this textbook, we provide students with texts, ESP vocabulary and 4 language skills as well as English-Vietnamese translation as believing that an insight into English, especially ESP vocabulary can be nothing but useful for their future jobs. This textbook consists of 8 units. Each unit includes texts on relevant engineering accompanied with other sections like starter and vocabulary exercises, skills practice, translation, then language study and additional texts. Above all, we hope that this textbook will become a useful tool for your future and you will find it interesting and enjoyable.
