Abstract

English for Economics is offered as an English for specific purposes (ESP) focusing on the Business Administration, Accounting and Finance & Banking programmes of Transport Economics Faculty at The University of Transport Technology. This book is intended to develop the students’ essential communication skills in simulated economic contexts and to give students the overview of economic knowledge as well as the vocabulary related to diverse topics in this area. It is hoped that this book will help students to enhance their language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing in the field of Business Administration, Accounting and Finance & Banking. Beside the provided exercises, advanced tasks such as writing reports, translation, making presentations, etc. are designed to improve students’ future occupational skills . The book consists of sixteen topic-based units covering the significant field of economics. Each unit includes relevant contents with starter, vocabulary tasks, skill practices, videos to simulate the professional practice. We would like to convey special thanks to our colleagues, friends for their supports in our compiling process. Notwithstanding compilers’ considerable effort, we cannot avoid the unintended shortcomings. Therefore, all readers’ comments and contributions are welcome to make this book more improved and effective.
